Please join us this Friday, November 19, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. We are delighted to be welcoming back Alan Hommerding, who will perform a program that includes a wide variety of musical expressions:

  • Sonata in D Major, Op. 65, No. 5 – Felix Mendelssohn
  • Simeon Suite: Organ works by Flor Peeters, Johannes Brahms, and Dietrich Buxtehude based on a chant tune for the Canticle of Simeon (Luke 2:29-32)
  • Psalms without Words 65:11-12 – Alan J. Hommerdingf

Alan J. Hommerding is Liturgical Publications Editor at the WLP division of GIA Publications and serves as Music Director for Edgebrook Community Church (UCC) in Chicago. He is the composer of numerous published choral and instrumental works and is well known as both creator and editor of hymn texts.

Currently the District of Columbia is requiring all persons, whether vaccinated or not, to wear masks at public indoor spaces. We will follow this and any other requirement put in place to protect the public health.

For those who are still not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it later in the day on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
