Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, June 17, at 12:15 p.m., for our weekly Music at Midday recital. We are delighted to be welcoming organist and composer Carson Cooman, who will be performing works by three living composers:
- Invokationen – Günther Firlinger
- The Grave of Keats – Carlotta Ferrari
- Sinfonietta (Allegro; Cantilene; Intermezzo; Adagio; Finale) – Thomas Åberg
Carson Cooman holds degrees in music from Harvard University and Carnegie Mellon University and since 2006 has held the position of Composer in Residence at the Memorial Church, Harvard University. As an organ recitalist, Cooman specializes in the performance of contemporary music. Over 300 new compositions by more than 100 international composers have been written for him.
Currently the wearing of masks is optional but highly recommended. For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
