LGBTQ Community

An Open and Affirming Congregation

National City Christian Church is an open and affirming congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We welcome persons of all gender expressions and sexual orientations to Christ’s communion and to the full life and leadership of the church.

If you are you looking for a church home or a congregation where you can find affirmation as an LGBTQ person, please join us for worship on Sundays at 10 am, in-person or through our livestream.

You are also welcome to join our LGBTQ Community , a social and service group within the congregation, particularly committed to furthering National City’s mission to help us all to “journey toward a fuller commitment to Christ by being an inclusive church family which fully embraces in its life and ministries people of every race, gender, age, culture, economic circumstance, sexual/gender orientation, family configuration, physical or mental condition, and all other distinctions which are the rich tapestry of God’s creation.”

LGBTQ Ecumenical Bible Study

Second Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m. (On Summer Break Until September)

Please join us on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Music Suite for atopical discussion about current issues within the Church, society, and our families that spark honest and frank conversations. What does the Bible and the example of Jesus’ inclusive love teach contemporary believers that affects LGBTQ people in the 21st Century?
