Weddings
One of the most wonderful and sacred rituals celebrated in the church is that of Christian marriage. It is a sacred covenant through which two people are called by God to live their lives in love. In a service of Christian marriage, a lifelong commitment is made by a couple to each other, publicly witnessed and acknowledged by those who attend the ceremony and sealed and blessed by an ordained minister. As followers of the Gospel, we love all forms of love, and are honored to offer Christian marriages to all couples regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

National City Christian Church is honored and blessed to have couples from all backgrounds consider holding their wedding (or commitment) ceremony in our historic and inspiring sanctuary. Imagine heralding the beginning of your married lives with music from our magnificent pipe organ, surrounded by pews in which United States Presidents have sat, and vows being said in one of the most majestic churches – right here in the heart of Washington, DC. Whether you’re planning a large or small wedding, or a single-language or bilingual ceremony – we would welcome you.
You can find complete information here about weddings at National City Christian Church. If you have questions, please contact Rev. Stephanie Kendell at 202-232-0323 ext. 114 or skendell@nationalcitycc.org.
As an open and affirming congregation, National City welcomes the opportunity to host your wedding here at the church, or one of ministers will gladly officiate an offsite ceremony.
