Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, June 16, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. This week we are delighted to be welcoming organist Alain Truche, who will perform works of Swiss, Belgian, Anglo-Canadian and English composers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries:
- Salamanca from Trois Préludes Hambourgeois– Guy Bovet
- Prière from Four Pieces – Joseph Jongen
- Scherzetto from Organ Sonata in C minor – Percy Whitlock
- Introduction, Passacaglia, and Fugue – Healey Willan
Alain Truche currently serves as the Director of Music at Saint Luke Lutheran Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Central Michigan University, a Master of Music degree from Indiana University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. As an active recitalist, Dr. Truche has performed in various venues in Asia, Europe and the United States, including the Eglise Saint-Paul and the Abbaye in Marmoutier in Strasbourg, France, at Aletheia University, and the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan. Truche was a finalist at the Arthur Poister Organ competition held in Syracuse, New York in 2007.
