Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, February 11, at 12:15 p.m. for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. We are delighted to be welcoming Hershey, Pennsylvania organist Grant Wareham, who will perform an exciting and inspiring program:
- Toccata for Organ (East Coast Premiere) – Karim Al-Zand
- Adagio Allegro [und Adagio], K. 594 – W. A. Mozart
- Phantasie für Orgel über den Choral “Wie schön leucht’ uns der Morgenstern,” Op. 40, No. 1 – Max Reger
Grant Wareham currently serves as the Organist and Director of Music Ministries at Derry Presbyterian Church in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He received a Bachelor of Music degree Cum Laude and with Distinction from Rice University, and a Master of Music degree at the Yale University Institute of Sacred Music and School of Music. Winner of both the First and Audience Prizes at the 2017 Albert Schweitzer Organ Competition in Hartford, Connecticut, Grant has appeared at the 2017 Organ Historical Society Convention, and as a semifinalist in the 2019 Longwood International Organ Competition.
Because of the recent surge of COVID infections, the District of Columbia requires all those attending the concert to show proof of vaccination, to wear masks at all times inside the building, and to observe social distancing. For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it later in the day on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Look for an email message after the live performance with links.
