Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, November 18, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday recital. This week we are welcoming Baltimore organist Jordan Prescott, who will perform a program of music by a variety of composers:
- Nun danket alle Gott, Op. 65 No. 59 – Sigfrid Karg-Elert (1877-1933)
- Fugue in a-flat minor, WoO 8 – Johannes Brahms (1833-1897)
- Light in Darkness – Kerensa Briggs (b. 1991)
- Adagio for Strings – Samuel Barber (1910-1981)
- Rhapsody No. 3 – Herbert Howells (1892-1983)
Hailed by The Baltimore Sun as a “rising organ star,” Jordan Prescott has established himself as one of the leading organists, conductors, and scholars of his generation. As a solo recitalist, Jordan performs extensively across the United States, including appearances at Trinity Church (Boston), West Point Military Academy Cadet Chapel, Princeton University Chapel, Washington National Cathedral (Washington, D.C.), Grace Cathedral (San Francisco), St. Thomas Fifth Avenue, and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (New York City). He currently serves as Organist and Choirmaster at Grace and Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Baltimore and is a doctoral candidate at Peabody Conservatory.
Currently the wearing of masks is optional but highly recommended. For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
