Organist Loreto Aramendi, from San Sebastián in the Basque region of Spain, will be presenting an exciting program of music at the weekly Music at Midday concert this Friday, April 8, at 12:15 p.m. at National City Christian Church. Please join us!

Here is the music that you’ll hear this week:

  • Prelude in E minor – Nicolaus Bruhns
  • Prelude in C sharp minor – Sergei Rachmaninoff, trans. Louis Vierne
  • Symphonic Interlude from Redemption—César Franck)
  • Offering and Final All from Book of the Blessed Sacrament – Olivier Messiaen

Loreto Aramendi currently serves as the principal organist of the Cavaillé-Coll organ (1863) of the Basilique of Santa María del Coro in San Sebastián. She is an internationally acclaimed performer and has given numerous recitals at international festivals in the United States, Japan, Russia, Canada, Argentina, and most European countries.

Beginning on Monday, April 4, the wearing of masks is optional. For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it later in the day on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
