Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, February 20, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. We are delighted to welcome back organist Loreto Aramendi, from San Sebastián in the Basque Country of Spain, to present an exciting program of great music:

  • Toccata, BuxWV 156 – Dietrich Buxtehude
  • Three Pieces (Magma, Wind Energy, Techno étude n. III) – Karen Tanaka
  • Carillon de Westminster – Louis Vierne
  • Pelléas and Mélisande (I. Prelude; III. Sicilienne) – Gabriel Fauré, trans. Louis Robilliard
  • Dieu parmi nous – Olivier Messiaen

Loreto Aramendi is the principal organist of the Cavaillé-Coll organ (1863) in the Basilica of Santa María del Coro in San Sebastián, located in the Basque Country of Spain. She is also currently a professor at the Francisco Escudero Conservatory. She has performed recitals around the world, in cities that include Madrid, Paris, Moscow, London, and Reykjavik, among others. She has collaborated with the Basque Symphony Orchestra for many years, with whom she has recorded two discs.
