Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, May 6, at 12:15 p.m., for our weekly Music at Midday recital. We are delighted to be welcoming Dr. Michał Szostak, an organist, improvisationalist, and researcher, who currently teaches at the University of Social Sciences and Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland. He was formerly the Music Director and the Principal Organist at the Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary in Licheń Stary—the largest organ in Poland.
This week’s program features works of great composers and improvisations on some familiar tunes:
- Fantasia G Major, BWV 572 – J. S. Bach
- Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland, BWV 659 – J. S. Bach
- Italian Concerto: Allegro-Andante-Allegro, improvisation
- 5th Symphony, Allegro con brio, Op. 67 – Ludwig van Beethoven
- Adagio Cantabile, improvisation
- Symphonic Toccata, improvisation
Currently the wearing of masks is optional but highly recommended. For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
