Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, September 8, at 12:15 p.m., for the first concert in our new season of weekly Music at Midday recitals.
We are delighted to be welcoming Dr. Michał Szostak, an organist, improviser, and researcher, who currently teaches at the University of Social Sciences and Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland. He was formerly the Music Director and the Principal Organist at the Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary in Licheń Stary—the largest organ in Poland.
This week’s program features works of great composers and an improvisation by Dr. Szostak:
- Passacaglia in C minor, BWV 582 – J. S. Bach
- String Concerto in E Major (“Four Seasons”): Allegro-Largo-Allegro (“Spring) – Antonio Vivaldi
- Symphonic Variations: Improvisation – Michał Szostak
For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
