Please join us at National City Christian Church on Friday, April 22, at 12:15 p.m., for a recital by Ohio organists Chad Pittman and Mark Thewes, who will be presenting a program of music for four hands—and four feet!

Chad Pittman
is Director of Choral Activities for the Akron School for the Arts at Firestone High School, where he oversees a nationally renowned program of six

Chad Pittman is Director of Choirs at Northwest High School in Stark County, Ohio, where he conducts an active choral program of seven choirs. He also serves as Director of Music and Organist at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Massillon. Chad is currently a doctoral music student at Kent State University and studies in the summer choral conducting program at Michigan State University. He holds the Master of Education Administration from Cleveland State University and a bachelor of music education and organ from Baldwin Wallace University.

Mark Thewes is a the Minister of Music at historic St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Massillon, Ohio. Previously he served for 44 years as Organist-Director of Music at Westbrook Park United Methodist Church, Canton. He holds both a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree of Music in Organ Performance from the University of Akron, and has received his Certification in Church Music from Baldwin Wallace University. A published composer, Mark is also an adjunct professor of music (organ) at Malone University and accompanist for “A Chorus for a Cause” a community chorus based in Canton.

Currently the wearing of masks is optional but highly encouraged. For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it later in the day on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
