Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, April 21, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. This week we are delighted to be welcoming organist Charles D. Frost to perform a program of works by African and African American composers:

  • Jubilate – Fela Sowande
  • Variations on a Theme f Ellie – Trevor Weston
  • Lord, I Want to Be a Christian – Roy Belfield
  • King of Kings – Ralph Simpson
  • Two Hymn Settings (Spirit of God, Descend upon My Heart; O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee) – Philip Barnett McIntyre
  • Adoration – Florence Price
  • Finale-Allegro – Florence Price

Charles Frost, originally from Red Bank, New Jersey, currently lives in Beaufort, South Carolina. He serves as Organist of First Presbyterian Church, Hilton Head Island, and previously spent sixteen years as Organist and Director of Music at Sea Island Presbyterian Church in Beaufort. He continues to direct the Sea Island Chamber Singers, an auditioned choral group which sings sacred music, and to perform organ recitals in various states.

For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
