Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, October 7, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday recital. This week we are welcoming Houston pianist Yvonne Chen, who will perform a program of music by French composers:
- Prelude from Le Tombeau de Couperin – Maurice Ravel
- Choral – Jehan Alain
- Chorale Prelude – Felix le Couppey/William Gillock
- Fugue in A minor from 8 Pièces brèves – Gabriel Fauré
- Prélude, Chorale, et Fugue – César Franck
Taiwanese-American pianist Yvonne Chen is known for her self-presented programs, creating immersive audience experiences in solo and chamber performances through connections in literature, architecture, art, food, and story-telling. Based in Houston, Texas, she is a soloist and chamber musician, recently performing with Monarch Chamber Players, MUSIQA, Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, and Houston Chamber Choir. Originally from the Washington, DC area, Chen received degrees in piano performance from the Juilliard School and Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music.
Currently the wearing of masks is optional but highly recommended. For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
