We are excited to welcome Rev. Dr. Barber to our pulpit on Pride Sunday, June 10, at our 11 a.m. service. Rev. Dr. William Barber II is a preacher, author, and professor, he is the architect of the “Forward Together Moral Movement.” Rev. Dr. Barber has most recently been leading the revival of MLK’s radical Poor People’s Campaign, (including services at National City followed by protests at the White House), and as president of the Repairers of the Breach whose Higher Ground Moral Declaration provides a moral agenda for our nation on issues including: democracy and voting rights; poverty and economic justice; workers’ rights; education; healthcare; environmental justice; immigrant rights and challenging xenophobia; criminal justice; LGBTQ rights; and war-mongering and the military. For each issue area, an individual moral and constitutional foundation is established. The positions are neither left nor right; neither conservative nor liberal. Rather, they are morally defensible, constitutionally consistent, and economically sound. Most importantly, they represent, as Dr. King urged, a moral revolution in values.

We hope you can join us for the service and then visit our booth at the Capital Pride Festival located on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 3rd and 7th Streets.
