Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, May 1, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. We are delighted to be welcoming pianist Junwen Liang to perform a program he has entitled “Romantic Dialogues Across Time”:

  • Jeux d’eau – Maurice Ravel
  • Three Pieces (Adoration; Clouds; Etude) – Florence Price
  • Two Song of Rodgers and Hammerstein (Hello, Young Lovers; My Favorite Things) – Stephen Hough
  • Two Waltzes (D-flat Major; A-flat Major) – Frédéric Chopin
  • Rondo a la mazur in F Major – Frédéric Chopin

Chinese pianist Junwen Liang has been hailed as “captivating” (Stroll Magazine) and “an extremely gifted young artist” (New York Concert Review). He began studying piano at nine and made his solo debut at thirteen. Junwen has performed with orchestras including the Central Texas Philharmonic and Penn State Philharmonic, and has appeared at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kimmel Center. His performances have also been featured on WSKG and WRTI Classical Radio. A prizewinner in competitions such as WPTA Spain and The American Prize, Junwen has participated in prestigious festivals like the Aspen Music Festival and Orford Musique.
