Scott Schwertfeger completed his studies under distinguished teachers Dr. Nels Leonard (West Liberty State College), and Stephen Aron (Oberlin Conservatory/ University of Akron). Following his undergraduate studies, Scott was awarded a Teaching Assistantship at the University of Akron, and began a teaching position at Cleveland Institute of Music’s Preparatory Division. In addition to performing, teaching was a calling, and he was hired as a lecturer in music at the historic Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. Since 1996, Scott has been heard on various radio and television programs. Described by the Washington Post as “Visceral…Bracing”, Scott crossed musical boundaries through his work with Grammy Award winning producer David Kershenbaum, whose credits include soundtracks from the films Last of the Mohicans, and Robinhood: Prince of Thieves. Scott can be heard on the solo guitar recording, Scott Schwertfeger; Scott Schwertfeger, 2010. Scott continues to perform widely and is currently a faculty member and Director of Conservatorium at Veritas Collegiate Academy in Arlington, Virginia.
