Often, organizations present building updates in one big reveal. However, those who work in ministry and manage properties know that often major improvements happen in small increments over time. National City’s consistent work to improve our space for our congregation, tenants and guests from across the country and denomination continues to be the culmination of a multitude of gifts from a variety of ministry partners that share a vision for this historic space. We thought it might be fun to share some of those small changes and upgrades that have had a big impact on the space and our ministry in this season.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of several donors (some who have chosen to remain anonymous), our building has received a meaningful collection of furniture donations over the last six months that will serve our congregation for years to come.
Our 3rd floor conference room is now equipped with 28 modern office chairs, making it easier than ever to host meetings, classes, and gatherings. Seven new modular conference tables have found homes throughout the building, adding functionality to our shared spaces and an ability to right-size spaces for the events we host.
Our community room, where our congregation gathers for potlucks and meetings, now features two beautiful wood credenzas that bring a sense of warmth and permanence to that special space. And our youth room now has a large sectional couch, giving our young people a comfortable place to relax and connect.
Outfitting our building to meet the needs of an evolving community is an ongoing effort, and one we couldn’t do alone. We are deeply grateful to House of Ruth, Board Source, Installnet, and everyone else who contributed these gifts. Whether you gave your name or gave quietly, please know that your generosity is felt every time we open our doors.
