Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, June 24, at 12:15 p.m., for our weekly Music at Midday recital. This Friday’s concert will be the final performance of our 2021-2022 season. We will begin an exciting new season of concerts on Friday, September 9.
We are delighted this week to be welcoming organist Sondra Goldsmith Proctor, who will be performing a soul-stirring program of music:
- The Burning Bush – Herman Berlinski
- Adagio in E Major – Frank Bridge
- Fantasy and Fugue in D Major, Opus 73 – Rachel Laurin
- Toccata und Fuge in d minor, BWV 565 – Johann Sebastian Bach
Sondra Goldsmith Proctor is currently serving as Musician in Residence at Gunnison Memorial Chapel on the campus of St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, Co-Dean of the St. Lawrence River Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and Programme Convenor for the Royal Canadian College of Organists – Ottawa Centre. For almost forty-five years she served churches and schools in the D.C. Metro Area, including Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ.
Currently the wearing of masks is optional but highly recommended. For those who are not able to join us in person, we will be recording the concert and will post it on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
