Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, November 6, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. The five-member Patagonia Winds ensemble is presenting a program entitled “Excursions”:
- Intrada from “Early Hungarian Dances” – Ferene Farkas
- Partita (5 movements) – Irving Fine
- Arabesque No. 1 – Claude Debussy, arr. Vollmers
- Christmas Eve Reel from “Celtic Christmas Suite” (2025) – Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda
Celebrated as “one of the finest American woodwind quintets on the scene today” (composer Tom Benjamin), praised for their “breathtaking precision” and “lovely long lines” (composer Catherine McMichael), and noted for “a sound both timeless and vital” (composer, hornist, and educator Jeff Scott), Patagonia Winds has captivated audiences across the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region since 2010. Known for thoughtful, high-quality programming that champions living, local, and historically underrepresented composers alongside beloved works from the repertoire, the quintet brings depth, warmth, and inclusivity to every performance through engaging commentary and educational outreach.
If you are unable to join us in person, you may view a livestream on our YouTube channel (Friends of National City Christian Church) or on our Facebook page (National City Christian Church). You may also view a recording afterwards at those same sites.
