On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, National City Christian Church and Foundation hosted another successful Great Day of Giving. The Great Day of Giving, a collaborative effort from the generosity of people from across the life of the church, each year opens the doors of the church to welcome neighbors to receive clothing, hygiene items, Christmas cards, and food with love and dignity.
Our volunteers gathered the previous day to set up and to staff the three hour event on Wednesday. With Santa hats and smiles, the community served an estimated 200 individuals at the event. Our neighbors were able to get new warm clothing, food and hygiene supplies from the church, choosing scarves and other items that were hand made from the gifts of our community and beyond. Thank you to everyone who made donations, helped set up, volunteered, and prayed to make this event impactful and joyful.
The National City food pantry is over 30 years old and has not missed a Wednesday since it began. The Foundation supports this ministry by housing the food pantry and the congregation and our wider community bring this ministry to life. National City’s commitment to service is well known throughout the district and has been a lifesaving and life-giving ministry for all who serve and are served.
