Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, December 6, at 12:15 p.m. for our weekly Music at Midday concert, when organist Kimberly Ann Hess and friends will present A Baroque Christmas.
A Baroque Christmas, will feature sopranos Sarah Noone and Erin Bullock, performing Richard Dering’s Above Him stood the Seraphim, which is a lovely motet written for two equal treble voices. Sarah Noone will also perform Scarlatti’s Cantata Pastorale per la nascità di Nostro, a lesser known and rarely performed work, yet a musical gem perfect for Christmastime. In addition to playing continuo, Dr. Hess will also perform Bach’s Fantasia on In Dulci Jubilo (In sweet rejoicing), BWV 729. Lastly, organ and strings will be featured in the beloved Christmas Concerto in G minor, Op. 6, No. 8 by Arcangelo Corelli.
