“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food or thirsty and gave you something to drink?…And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.’(Matthew 25:37, 40, NRSVUE)

With anticipation of the sinful cutting of support to those on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) we want to remind you that National City has a long standing food ministry and celebrated history of feeding our neighbors. For decades the Foundation has provided space for our Food Pantry to distribute free Snack Bags and Cook Bags every Wednesday from 10am-1pm at the church to our hungry neighbors. Through our Board of Local Trustees (BOLT) our church also has other resources to help our neighbors in need. It is indeed a collaboration of all our resources that make this ministry possible.

If God has provided you with the ability to share and meet the needs of your neighbors, financial and food donations to the food pantry are greatly appreciated. You can give on our website here. Please note “Food Pantry” in the memo.

Helpful food items are:

Milk
Tuna (Packets or pop-tops)
This is a time of need for all of us. Some of us will need food, some need prayers of health, and others need a place to serve. Let us meet the needs of today with faithful passion for God’s people. This is what we mean when we say each week in worship, “We Need Each Other.”
We also do not embark on this work alone. As the national church of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) we hold dearly our connection to all churches across our country that are working in collaboration with their communities to feed and care for their impacted neighbors. If we can include your feeding ministry in our weekly prayers, please fill out this form.
