Please join us on Friday, May 18, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday recital. We are delighted to be welcoming Benjamin LaPrairie to perform organ works by French composer Louis Vierne.
Benjamin LaPrairie serves as Associate Director of Music at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. As a composer, Benjamin’s works have been performed by the Choir, Brass, and Orchestra of the Basilica, as well as the Catholic University of America Chorus and Orchestra. His setting of Christus Vincit was premiered upon the entrance of Pope Francis into the Basilica in 2015.
This week’s program is drawn from a single work of Louis Vierne (1870-1937), the Symphony No. 1 in D minor, Op. 14:

IV. Allegro Vivace
V. Andante
VI. Final
