Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, November 8, at 12:15 p.m., as we welcome Washington area composer and organist Justus (Jay) Parrotta, who is performing a program entitled “Bringing the Outdoors Indoors.” All but one of the pieces for this recital were arranged for organ by Dr. Parrotta and are marked with an asterisk (*):

Justus (Jay) Parrotta currently serves as Organist and Schola Director at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in the Shaw Mount Vernon neighborhood and teaches in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Music Magna Cum Laude in Organ Performance with a Minor in Composition, a Master in Composition with a concentration in Concert Music, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Music Composition from The Catholic University of America’s Benjamin T. Rome School of Music. He is a Fellow of the American Guild of Organists. His compositional works consist of music for solo instruments, voice, choir, congregation, chamber ensemble, orchestra, dance, opera, electronics, and film.
