Please join us at National City Christian Church on Friday, February 6, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. We begin a new season of inspiring concerts with a performance by organist Glenn Little.

In celebration of Black History Month, most of the program will feature music by African American composers:

  • Suite Gothique – Léon Boëllmann
  • Gospel Fancy (He Knows Just How Much We Can Bear) – Raymond Henry
  • Nettleton (Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing) – arr. Eurydice Osterman
  • Oh Freedom – arr. Adolphus Hailstork
  • Improvisation on “We Shall Overcome” – arr. by Carl Haywood

Glenn Little is a native of Washington, D.C., where he graduated from Howard University with a B.Mus. in organ performance and a minor in piano.  His organ instructors at Howard were the late Thomas Keith and Harvey Van Buren.  He pursued additional studies with the late Conrad Bernier of Catholic University.  Following graduation, Mr. Little entered the U.S. Foreign Service, where he served for over 32 years with assignments stateside and abroad.  Since his retirement in 2000, he has served at various churches in the Raleigh/Durham/Cary areas as Director of Music Ministries/Organist.  He currently resides in Stafford, Virginia, and is a member of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO)
