Please join us at National City Christian Church next Friday, November 6, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. We are delighted to be welcoming organist Mi Zhou to perform these glorious works:
- Carillon de Westminster – Louis Vierne
- When the mountains sing – Wei Gu
- Prelude and Fugue on the Name B-A-C-H – Franz Liszt
Mi Zhou is pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ Performance at University of Michigan as a student of Dr. James Kibbie. She holds a Master of Music degree in Organ and Graduate Performance Diploma at Peabody Conservatory where she studied with Dr. John Walker. Previously she earned the Bachelor of Arts at Shanghai Conservatory, studying E-Organ with Professors Lei Zhu and Meng Zeng. In Baltimore, Mi Zhou performed frequently at Westminster Hall, Zion Lutheran Church, Brown Memorial Church, and Grace United Methodist Church. Last year the American Guild of Organists chose Mi Zhou and composer Gu Wei, as one of four winning teams throughout America to collaborate in the composition of a new work for organ.
This concert is part of the church’s free weekly Music at Midday concert series. We will be opening the building for those who wish to attend the concert in person. We will follow local guidelines on the number of people allowed into the building and will have positions roped off where audience members may sit. Masks will be required to enter the building and will be available for those who need them. Also, we will not be providing printed programs but instead have posted a full program which you may download to view on your mobile device or print for your own use. To download the program, click here.
We will also be recording the concert and will post it later in the day on the church’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Look for an email message on Friday afternoon with links or just watch our Facebook page for a post.
