Although organist Loreto Aramendi was unable to travel here from her home in Spain, she has recorded this week’s Music at Midday concert that will be premiered on Friday, April 16, at 12:15 p.m. An international concert artist and main organist of the Cavaillé-Coll organ (1863) of the Basilica of Santa María del Coro in San Sebastian, Spain, Loreto Aramendi has performed previously at National City Christian Church and is already scheduled to return next spring.
You may use this link to view the premiere on Friday at 12:15 p.m. or to enjoy the concert at any time afterwards. You may also download or view the printable PDF program by clicking here. The full program includes biographical information about Loreto Aramendi and a listing of donors to Music at Midday.
This week’s program works of French composers:
- Prélude Suite pour orgue op. 5 – Maurice Duruflé
- Prelude and Fugue on B-A-C-H (1855/70) – Franz Liszt
- Rédemption Interlude Symphonique = César Franck, trans. Louis Robilliard
Good news! We are planning to return to in-person concerts beginning on Friday, May 7, at 12:15 p.m. As spring flowers into full bloom and we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day, the organ and piano duo of Chuyoung and Erik Wm. Suter will perform Sergei Rachmaninoff’s romantic Piano Concerto No. 2. The concert will be performed live and will also be live streamed or recorded.
