Music at Midday is proud to be presenting twice-weekly virtual concerts, today featuring organist Joby Bell. We are deeply grateful to the wonderful musicians who have contributed recordings of their performances to make possible these virtual concerts.

Since 2004, Joby Bell has served on the faculty of the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University, where he teaches organ and church music studies. His teaching specializes in practice techniques, memorization, service playing, choral accompanying, and maintaining grace under pressure – lessons always best taught by example. He appears regularly throughout the United States and abroad as organist, collaborator, and lecturer. He has recorded on the Centaur label, including a forthcoming series of the complete solo organ Symphonies by Charles-Marie Widor.

Joby holds degrees from Appalachian State University and Rice University. His teachers include H. Max Smith and Clyde Holloway. His church posts have been served in Houston and throughout North Carolina. Visit his website by clicking here.
