Please join us at National City Christian Church this Friday, April 10, at 12:15 p.m., for our free weekly Music at Midday concert. We are delighted to be welcoming Duo Arpeggione—cellist Claudio Jaffe and pianist Catherine Lam, who will perform beautiful music by five different composers:
- Prelude from Cell Suite No. 3 in C Major – J. S. Bach
- Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 3 – Ludwig van Beethoven
- “Swan” from Carnival of the Animals – Camille Saint-Saëns
- Romanza – Arthur Foote
- Tarantella – David Popper
Hailed by The New York Times as an “elegant and accomplished artist,” Claudio Jaffé fascinates audiences with his passionate virtuosity. A world-renowned recitalist and chamber musician, he has performed in prestigious halls globally, including New York’s Weill Recital Hall, London’s Wigmore Hall, Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colón, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and Tokyo’s Suntory Hall.
Catherine Lan, praised for her “fluent technique, sensitive musicianship and probing Intellect,” has concertized across the world at venues like Carnegie Hall, Kadriorg Palace, Fitzwilliam Museum, and Buda Castle. She has appeared as a soloist with several symphonies and collaborates with many artists as an avid chamber musician.
